Man ...you can sure tell winter is on it's way. It is cold (32F) and windy as all get out....good day to catch up on laundry, bake a pie and clean off my desk....
Friday was a "interesting" night. We dropped off Julie at her grandparents for teh weekend. The plan was that Steve and I were going out for supper at Swiss Chalet. Lineups were 45 minutes long so we went out to a fish and chips place and I pigged out on scallops. After that we had to go to the arena because Steve had a game in his hockey league. Well about 20 minutes into it, he was heading for a goal when the goalie purposely tripped him. His feet came up almost to the level of his head and he came down HARD on his hip and threw his back out. He had a hell of a time getting off the ice and out of his gear. The referee claimed he never saw anything. How could he not? He was 3 feet away? Anyway, it took Steve 15 minutes just to get into the car...with an awful pile of screaming in pain.....I wanted him to go home but he thought he'd tough it out and off we went to pick up our friend Tony and we went to the bar to see our friend's band play. Music was excellent as always, Ceasars went down like water and we had a ton of fun. We got home and got teh Tylenol with codeine into Steve to at least help with the pain enough so we could get his boots off. I took the 50 pound hockey bag downstairs and put everything away...
Saturday, we woke up to find his back is bruised and he's able to move (sort of...) ....very , very slowly....We had plans to go to our neighbors for a Christmas party but we opted to stay put instead because Steve was in so much pain and doing simple things like going to the bathroom were a major chore....Instead we had a few drinks, and watched The Santa Clause together. We have both seen it 15 times each I'm sure, but it was nice none the less to spend some quiet time together.
Sunday morning we woke up to about 6 inches of snow on the ground and it was sleeting out just to make it pretty...and dangerous. He drove into Hamilton to get Julie from her grndparent's house and came home with Swiss Chalet for supper...what a man.....When Julie got home we decorated the Christmas tree. Snickers just thinks we are the COOLEST owners EVER to be putting hundreds of ornaments and decorations and bells around the house! ROFL!! The tree is still standing but we have had to take a squirt bottle to her little butt at least 30 times to get her out from the top of the tree and we've had to put at least 20 ornaments back ON the tree....little bugger....We even put a musical ferris wheel thingy on the tree as well. Steve insisted because it was his mom's...sounds like an organ grinder monkey on crack to me (awful) but he's happy so I'll get over it....LOL
Today Steve had to work a 12 hour day shift...hopefully his back isn't too bad...he brought the ibuprofen with him and hopefully he will stay in his crane all day. I'm making him and apple pie to help make his boo-boo better.....our snow is all gone too. Bummed him out because he wanted to go ski-dooing yesterday with the dog but he knew if he did; his back would be screwed for months. It sucks getting old...LOL
Well enough of me blathering on...in the mood for a freebie? I am giving away my HollyBerry kit in 3 parts....

Hope Steve's back is better soon and I'm soooooooo jealous of your snow although I don't like the cold one bit. Our weather is totally screwed. One day it's hot as hades and the next it's freezing cold (for us that is).
Beautiful kit, thanks for sharing.
Sorry to hear Steve is down in his getalong, backs can really be painful for a long time.
Oh NOOOOO
Well at least you had a nice evening together....
I LOOOOOVE this kit - already got the kit cuz I WON it!!!! WOOO HOOOOOOOOOO
I hope Steve's back is better soon!
Abby's loving our tree, too. She headbutts the ornaments. I know what you men about being miserable out..it's 35* today & at least the wind has died down some. The Duchess (Abby) feels she's too good to go outside when it's nasty out..so we're fighting every time it's potty time. lol
Thanks bunches for the sweet HollyBerry kit!!
Will put Steve in my prayer's & know how painful a back can be!!!!
